Nutritious free meals are available for children and teens 18 and younger at many locations throughout the nation throughout the summer while school is out of session. Find a site near you: Find Summer Meals in Your Community.


Breakfast and lunch service will be available to all students. Breakfast costs $1.75 and lunch costs $3.10. Reduced breakfast costs $.30 and reduced lunch costs $.40. Duval Charter School at Westside will participate in the National School Lunch Program and free or reduced pricing will be available to those students who meet the guidelines.

Applying for Free and Reduced Meals

We are now accepting free and reduced meal applications online! If you would like to submit your application online please visit the My School Apps portal.  If you don’t already have an account you must register before you will be able to complete the application online. You will need to enter your child’s first name, last name, date of birth, and student ID just as it appears in PowerSchool.

Once you have linked your children to your account, you can proceed to submit your free and reduced lunch application by clicking the “Submit Application” link.

  • How am I notified of the status of my application?
    • Your child’s school will either send you a printed Household Benefit letter as you have received in the past or e-mail this letter to you.
  • How long does the approval process take?
    • Applications can typically be processed in one business day.
  • Will I be notified of my eligibility right away?
    • You will be notified as soon as the application has been processed. If the school has an email address for you on file, the Household Benefit letter will be emailed as soon as the application is processed. If no email address is on file a Household Benefit letter will be sent home with your child.
  • How do I make corrections if I accidentally entered wrong information?
    • The online application allows parents to go back and forth to correct any items. It also includes an account summary page before final submission to ensure that all family members, students, income and/or case numbers have been entered into the system correctly with the option to go back if corrections are needed.

Applications will also be available for pick up at your school.

Meal Service updates


We are excited to share with you some changes taking place in our cafeteria for this school year.

The first change is My School Bucks.

My School Bucks replaced E-funds as the online payment system to add money to your student’s meal account. With My School Bucks you are able to make deposits, update your students account with food allergies and dietary notes, and you have the ability to disable or limit the purchases of a la carte items; this includes how often they can make those purchases.

Applying for Free and Reduced Meals

Lastly, we are implementing an online National School Lunch Program application feature in support of our ongoing efforts to go paperless within our cafeterias. Below are instructions on how to submit a free and reduced lunch application.

  • Enter the school zip code “32210
  • Under “Choose School District” select “Charter Schools USA – Renaissance Charter schools, Inc.
  • Click “Select and Continue”
  • Select the blue “Begin Application Process” button

The Healthy Hunger-Free Kids Act requires school cafeterias to meet new federal nutrition standards for school lunches and breakfasts. Read our “School Meals Have Changed!” to learn more!

The USDA Smart Snacks Policy requires schools to only sell food and beverages that meet certain nutrition standards.
